Narangba Project
You would have heard Jay mention the rough in stage and this involves is getting all the wires from the switch boards, down to each power point or light switch. You can see this is the light switch as you walk into this room. These cables here are the data and cameras that are going to be set up around the house.
There is a second switchboard that we’ve had to put in because of the distance from the main hub over in the garage. From here you have power points which are either down low in most bedrooms for plug in power, or up high if it’s above a bench.
Another thing to think about during this stage, is if there is a need for extra television points. It is a lot easier to put these in now and take your time in these planning stages to get all the fixtures and fittings right where you want them.
In the heart of the home, we have the kitchen, and you can picture the island bench here. It is going to sit in the middle and the overhead cupboards, and the cook top will be over the back. A lot of people ask how we get power over the island bench.
In the concrete slab stage of the home build, it is critical to get the underground rough in locations right. You can see the power cables go down underneath the slab and then back up. This is the same with the drainage pipes and the water points. In this home we also have tap outlet where the fridge is going. This is a preference for a lot of families these days, to have water coming out of the fridge. There is also an overhead power point for the rangehood, as well as points for the cooktop and double ovens.
As you can see there is a lot of time that goes into the planning stage when building or renovating a home. Be sure to give us a call if you are looking to design or construct a new home or dive into a large home renovation.
