Hi guys! Jay here. Today we’re looking at the building approval stage of the process.
By now, you’ve got your construction plans for your home, your selections have been completed and you’ve got a signed building contract to get things underway.
All the information is then given to a private certifier for council approval. The documentation that they need include working drawings soil tests, engineering plans, an energy efficiency report, a signed building contract, a QBCC insurance, and a QLeave payment.
There could be some extra requirements for certain sites and these are often
picked up in a pre-lodgment assessment from the certifier. During this time, we set up construction schedules, timelines, and site prelim tasks so when we do get the tick of approval, we’re ready to go.
I hope this helps with this part of the build and in the next video, we’ll have a chat about getting your project off and running.
Take care and I’ll talk to you soon.
